Senior Ebi Gerrard is excited to take her cheerleading to the next level after being recruited by the Baker University Cheer Team.
Ebi has been passionate about cheerleading for years. She joined the BHS cheerleading team when she was a sophomore. Over the last three years, Ebi has become known for her stunting skills and her leadership on the team. Ebi said, “Cheerleading has always been something I love, and now I’m getting the chance to do it at the college level. It feels amazing.”
In addition to cheering at Baker, Ebi plans to study elementary education. She dreams of becoming an elementary school teacher, working with young students and helping them succeed in school.
“I’ve always loved working with kids, and I know teaching is the career I want” Ebi said. “I’m excited to continue my cheerleading at Baker while also focusing on my studies. I want to be the kind of teacher who encourages kids to their best, just like my coaches have done for me.”
At BHS, Ebi has been a role model for other students, especially younger cheerleaders. Coach Kaci said, “She’s hardworking, positive, and always helping others. I know she’ll do great things, both as a cheerleader and as a future teacher.”
