“I have been working for BJHS for 23 years. I can’t remember a time I didn’t want to be a teacher. I used to put my dog in front of the board and teach her ABCs. She was a mini French poodle. So I would say probably 1st grade. I didn’t get asked. There was an opening and I needed a job. Benefits include making a difference to young minds and helping them to succeed in life. I love believing in someone until they believe in themselves. It is hard when I am giving all I have to give and parents tell me I am a lousy teacher (usually because their child didn’t do their homework and is flunking). I was a bank teller and worked as 2nd in command of the front end for Dillons (for 13 years), and I also milked cows part-time.”
