The BHS Scholar’s Bowl team is always welcoming more students to join. One of the two sponsors this year is Lois Misegadis, the BHS librarian and this is her second year on the team. The second sponsor is Jim Ashcraft, he also coaches tennis and teaches science classes at the high school.
There are many difficult aspects about Scholar’s Bowl.
“There’s such a wide variety of questions and I think it is difficult to have students who are really good with all the questions,” Misegadis said.
Readers who think they should give the team a try, should know that it is worth it to join.
“You do not need to know everything, you only need to know a little bit,” said Ashcraft
The two captains of the team for the 24-25 season are senior Travis Turner and junior Ali Cramer.
“My favorite part of the team is the players,” Cramer said.
“I’m excited to be a captain of the team so I can take everyone to the Eudora Dairy Queen,” Turner said.
The teammates were asked many questions and responded with a variety of answers. The team goes to numerous schools to play at and one question was what their favorite place to go for a meet.
“Paola because we got third place there,” senior Emily Hulce said.
“Gardner-Edgerton,” Cramer said. “We go to Blazers after the meet, and they have fried pickles and they’re so good.”
There are many genres of questions including; foreign language, math, social science, fine arts and science. The students on the team responded with many different answers on their favorite questions to be asked and what they excel in.
“I like foreign languages and math because I’m good at them,” senior Isaac Taylor said.
“Social science because I’m extremely good at History and Geography,” Turner said
