The 2024-25 cheer season at BHS had a late start with 3 new coaches, Kaci Kessinger, Rylie Hayden and Jessica Allen, stepping up about halfway through the summer.
“I think they are doing really good, I’m glad they stepped up to coach, and I think they’re motivating the team really well,” sophomore cheerleader Anna Rolland said. “I think they’ve done a really good job of stepping up,” junior Laila Mohsen said.
The captains on the BHS cheer team are seniors Malin Harris, Kenlee Miller and Ebi Gerrard.
“I like it, because I get to lead such a great team, and I like being a role model to them,” Harris said.
“I like it, because I’m finally getting a leadership role after all the years of hard work I’ve put into this sport,” Miller said.
“It’s great, because I get to help people when they have questions,” Gerrard said.
The team has lots of positive things to say about the group of girls this year.
“I really like how close we are and I think the new girls are doing so amazing, and we work really hard,” Rolland said.
“We always build each other up, and motivate each other, and we’re always looking to learn new things,” freshman Cheerleader Macy Miller said.
“I love how kind everybody is, and how much fun we have,” freshman Cheerleader Lillian Crites said.
The 24-25 cheer season may have had a late start, but they still are continuing to persevere through the season.
