The Maple Leaf Festival is a longtime Baldwin tradition.
“I like it because you get to see a lot of people you have not seen in a while and it brings everyone together,” Freshman Mason Floersch, who has lived here his whole life.
The Festival includes many activities throughout the weekend including a parade, quilt show and over 300 booths.
“Being in the parade for sports and handing out candy to the little kids,”Freshman Logan Kesinger said
The Maple Leaf brings around 30,000 to 40,000 people each year.
“My least favorite part of the maple leaf festival is the crowd and that Baldwin does not have good phone service during the event,” Sophomore Ty Daly said.
The Maple Leaf has over 100 different types of foods and drinks the vendor’s make.
“ My favorite food is the walking tacos and the homemade root beer,”Senior Jace Hout said
The Maple Leaf Run is an event that takes place on the morning of the first day at the Baldwin City golf course.
“I love the Maple Leaf Festival and all it brings to Baldwin City,” said BHS teacher Kit Harris, who has lived here all his life. “It is one of the most important weekends of the year for our community”. “Everyone gets involved to make it a huge and successful event”. “I have enjoyed this event since I was a kid and always love seeing many friends and former students or wrestlers”.
