“This past season I was a freshman on the BHS cheer team. Being a freshman a new team is scary yet exciting. My favorite part about being on the BHS cheer team was getting to bond with the team and coaches and making friendships. I was nervous about trying out for the cheer team but I felt confident because I was trying out with other 8th graders with me. When I became a cheerleader I was excited but really nervous. Going from a Junior high cheer to a high school cheer is a big step and a lot of commitment. The funniest part of being a BHS cheerleader is on the sidelines, we would talk about the most random things and laugh about it. The hardest part of being a BHS cheerleader is the commitment and trying to get along with everybody. I feel sad about Patty leaving the team because it was my first year with her being my coach, and I visioned her being my coach until I graduated became like a second mom to me and she holds a very special place in my heart.”
