Batter up! The softball season has had an amazing start to their season with some talented new freshmen and some skilled upperclassmen.
“I am excited to be with the team everyday and also playing for my aunt who is one of the coaches,” freshman Macie Gilges said. “I am also excited to play because our team bond has been inseparable so far.”
Their season so far has had a good start.
“This year we are seeing the ball come across the plate better and are making good plays in the field so I am sure that this year will be good,” senior Kiley Montney.
Most of the girls have been playing for a while so they are very good.
“I think we will do great because we have people coming up who play competitively so we will have more people that will know the game more and that have a higher softball IQ,” Gilges said.
The seniors are sad but also excited about this season.
“It is a bittersweet feeling, I have grown up playing softball ever since I was three years old in T-ball,” Montney said. “I am sad it is coming to an end but as they say all good things must come to an end so I am looking forward to one last hurrah with my girls in the dirt.”
