The BHS girls soccer team is off to a strong start.
“I think we will have a great season because we have a good group of girls playing,” Senior Emmy Callahan said. “We have been making a lot of changes so we are still in the learning process, but I’m confident this will be a good season.”
There are six seniors playing this year. This includes Marin Drummond, MaceyLynn Wolf, Olivia Callahan, Kiersten Ciastkowsk, Emmy Callahan and Raelyn Wilkerson.
As of April 2 they have played two games and varsity’s current record is 1-1-1.
The girls are being coached by Ryan Cox and Matt McCune.
It is Cox’s first year coaching girls soccer at Baldwin and McCune’s third.
“I think the success for us this year will come in learning a new system, learning how to play alongside new teammates, and how to focus for the entire training session while giving 100% effort,” Coach McCune said.
Both coaches agreed that one of their biggest goals for this season is competing in the Regional Championship.
“We have a good mix of upperclassmen who have the experience on varsity and a talented group of freshmen and sophomores coming in to help and grow, ” Cox said.
Many girls are currently participating in soccer which means they have a solid team with a mix of different skills.
