Jackson Wheeler starts defense and offense for varsity at BHS. He plays tight end and on offense and outside backer on defense. He has one fumble and has forced a fumble and has several solo tackles on the season.
Q: What effort did you put in to start varsity on offense and defense as a freshman.
“I put a ton of effort in practice and especially in games. I do not think the coaches would even have noticed me if i didn’t put any effort in.”
Q: What were your initial thoughts on starting varsity?
“I was really excited for the opportunity and to just be able to play on friday nights.”
Q: How has practice changed since the beginning of the season after you started to get more playing time.
“It hasn’t changed too much just that i have to keep proving myself and learn as much as i can.”
Q: Were you happy or sad after not playing on JV anymore.
“I was kinda sad because winning the games in blowouts was fun and hit sticking kids.”
Q: What is your best experience in a game so far this season
“When I forced a fumble in Bishop Ward and Ethan picked it up for 50 yards.”
Q: What was your worst experience in a game so far this season
“I fumbled the ball in a game during Bishop Ward
Q: Do you feel like good coaching played a major role in your success so far this season?
“Yes I really think it did. I would not be where i am now without the help from the coaches this season.”
Q: After getting lots of varsity time do you feel like it has made you a better player.
“Definitely, I get to learn and get real game experience.”
