The 24-25 golf season was a hit and did great as a team and as individuals, but one in particle has had an amazing year. Peyton Wright has gotten many first-place medals to take home throughout the season. She has done very well and is ready for the next season to start again.
How long have you played golf?
“My entire life.”
What is your favorite part?
“Probably getting to compete for myself and getting to meet new people.”
When do you practice?
“Every day if it’s not under 32 degrees, even sometimes when it is freezing.”
Who introduced you to the game?
“My dad”
What is some advice that you would give to a beginner golf player?
“Just keep going when it gets hard because it’s really worthwhile but just enjoy it.”
What was your main goal for this season?
“To win league and regionals and to get my average down.”
What is the biggest obstacle you had this season?
“The first tournament this season was the biggest obstacle I had practiced all summer just to come back and have a very hard first tournament. It was really hard on myself when that happened but then for the second tournament I competed in I did one of the best I have ever done.”
What was different this year having Eric Toot as coach?
“He gives a lot of emotional support that a lot of us can benefit from and we had a lot of previous relationships from basketball and since a lot of the girls on the golf team play basketball we were all very close with him, I even consider him as one of my best friends.”
