There is a new head baseball coach running the Baldwin High School baseball program. This is his 4 years coaching here in Baldwin. He has taken the role of head coach of the BHS baseball team.
“I want to build good habits with the team and perform well on and off the field and in a good environment that they want to be in,” new head coach Grant Bachura said. “I want us to get 10 wins since 2015.”
One of the new freshman baseball players is Bentley Serigny. He stood out from all of the other freshmen because he is a good team player. He also knows how to help them out if they are confused.
Serigny as a kid got into baseball because his dad got him into it as a child.
“My dad got him into baseball and he has been playing baseball for 4 years now. He can’t wait to play baseball and he can’t wait to see what happens,” Serigny said.
Bachura can not wait for this baseball year because he is excited to coach. He can not wait to see what the team can do and what they can work on.
“I like leadership roles. My favorite memory was the first time that he was a head coach. They won the state championship of baseball, ” Bachura said.
One of the senior players this year is Jagger Dey. He stood out from all the others because he plays pitcher, and catcher. He is a really good team player. He helps anyone with their questions and helps them. He has been playing baseball for 13 years.
One of Dey’s many memories of baseball out of all of them this is his favorite memory
“My favorite memory is being selected to the all American games down in Florida at the Space Coast Complex for the Midwest central team we took 2nd out of 21 teams. Going down to Louisiana to play in the future stars series was a very good learning experience and just fun in general. He thought that baseball looked so fun so he played it. If baseball isn’t a choice he would have chosen football. “
