BHS junior Cooper Carr is the new all-time scoring leader for the Baldwin High School soccer team. He is a junior forward and he broke the score record which was 48.
“I think that’s going to be an honor thing. I’m glad to break a new record,” Cooper said.
Compared to his freshman and sophomore year, he sees many differences.
“I think the difference is that I’m more comfortable,” he said. “After playing my freshman and sophomore year I had more time to understand what I need to do for the team and also what it is that will help me score and get the win.”
He explained the first half of the season.
“Good,” he said. “We started 7-0-1. I mean, it’s hard to do better than that. We’ve been playing good scoring a lot of goals and our defense has been solid. Shout-out defenses, shout-out Gus.”
He is ready for the second half of the season.
“Our schedule does get a little tougher but I think if we keep playing the way we did in the first half, it will be a very successful year,” he said.
Also he has many goals for this season.
“I’m hoping that I get at least twenty this year, which means I need at least six more. So that’s always been my goal, hopefully that can happen,” he said.
