In a small town like Baldwin and a nearby college there are many students that plan on going to Baker University, Including a couple seniors Jayden Westgate and Nora Prather.
Prather ended up taking 4th This year in the KSHSAA 4A-1A state championships out of a 16 girl bracket, now she plans to continue her future seasons at Baker University.
“I choose to go to Baker because of the great environment it has,” Prather said. “I love that it is a small university so I will be able to know my peers and professors better than I would at a large school. It also has great Psychology and Spanish programs.”
as a 1-time state placer she is in fourth place for most wins. Prather has pushed herself to the extreme to be where she’s at.
“My greatest motivation is my own desire to be successful. I set a high bar for myself and expect a lot out of myself,” Prather said.
Jayden Westgate is a 3x State Qualifier at the weight of 120 pounds.
“I chose to go to Baker because it is Local, and it’s a great fit for me,” Westgate said.
Westgate is going to Baker to study Business Management and to wrestle on the men’s team with head coach Tyrone Lewis.
“I plan on going to Baker to Become an All-American, and I plan on getting my business degree,” Westgate said.
