After a stunning 6-0 start to their season the Baldwin High School boys basketball team is ranked 5th in 4a.
After Tuesday, Dec. 20 BHS took down Tonganoxie 76-63. It was a hard fought game but luckily the Bulldogs were able to pull away with a big win.
Students were worried that without team leaders Caleb Carr and Ryker Grossner, that the team would not be able to win as many games as the previous season.
Last season the team was able to head to the state tournament where they were knocked out by Eudora High School.
Although that’s not how they wanted to end the season they were still able to have a record season having an 18-5 record.
The Bulldogs have shown that they are still the same team and may be even better with a 6-0 start the the season.
“The goal is to get to state again, make it farther than last year and improve as a team,” sophomore Jackson Rood said.
The Bulldogs student section is always packed whether or not it is home or away. Having so much spirit as a team and a whole school will build this team up and help them win.
“I believe we are gonna do better than last year, we returned a lot of guys and have many young players on the team,” sophomore Ethan Smasal said.
