High hopes for volleyball in mid-season

The volleyball team is beginning its second season lead by head coach, Kathryn Kerner.

“I hope that we have left behind the inability to win,” Kerner said, “We would be right there and could not win.”

Kerner began playing volleyball at a young age, and has coached for 10 years.

“I love the sport and seeing players develop” said Kerner “I want all my girls to leave with a feeling of confidence.”

The current players are feeling confident about the upcoming season.

“I think we can have a really good season this year,” said senior Katherine Braun. “We all work really well together. I think we can get a winning record.”

Last year the team’s record was 10-27. Braun isn’t the only player who believes the team can improve their record this year.

“I hope we proceed to keep doing well,” said Emma Grossoehme, who is a captain on the team. “I think we’ve had a strong start to the season and hope it continues.”

The volleyball team currently has an 9-15 record overall, but still have many games to play.
