The cheer team has won three trophies in the last 4 years. With the season ending soon, tryouts are coming up on April 15-17. Some say they need even more people going out.
“I think more people should try out,” sophomore Maddi Cooper said. “It’s a fun experience and it shows people you can get more connected with people.”
The team shares a really close bond between all of them. They go on team bonding trips like, a recent one, Worlds of Fun.
“My favorite part of cheer is the bond you make with people, and the friends you make throughout the season,” freshman Addie Wright said.
With tryouts coming up some of the cheerleaders were asked if they were nervous for tryouts.
“I’m not really that nervous because I have done it before,” freshman Ashlyn Luthi said.
Cooper gave some advice for new people trying out.
“Be open to trying new things,” Cooper said. “Take corrections too.”
For freshman Ivy Holloman, trying out for cheerleading sounds like a fun adventure.
“I’m excited to tryout for cheer because I want to cheer on my fellow classmates,” Holloman said. “I can’t wait to try something I’ve never done before.”
Freshman Maygan Davis has never done cheer before and is ready to try it.
“I’m excited to be a part of the team,” Davis said. “I am excited to continue tumbling after gymnastics is over.”
