“ I went to Grinnell High School in Grinnell, KS. It’s a very small town in NW KS.”

“I played volleyball, basketball, track, softball, and cheerleading.”
Q: What college did you go to?
“I attended Garden City Community College and then K-State, and then went back to get my Masters degree from Avila University.”
Q: What year was your first year of teaching?
“2007.”
Q: What grade did you start teaching that first year?
“2nd grade.”
Q: What sports do you coach?
“I coach volleyball, basketball, and track.”
Q: How many years of college did you do?
“I attended college for 6 years.”
Q: What do you do besides teach?
“ I love attending sporting events for my own boys, as well as for my students. I also enjoy gardening and traveling to new places.
Q: When did you realize you wanted to teach?
“After college, I was a juvenile corrections officer for 4 years and realized I couldn’t keep watching these kids make dumb mistake after dumb mistake. They needed a role model and I wanted to be that for our youth. I knew that I wanted to coach someday as well, so it just seemed like the right thing to do. So, I started taking education classes in 2005.”
