“I have been involved in Environmental Club for three years, but I got most active my junior year and now my senior year. When I joined I didn’t know a lot about our environment or what to do, and this club has given me opportunities to go into volunteer work and community service. We do a plant sale every year which is really fun, and I just like to see what our school can do to help our world. We just had our plant sale, we might do one third quarter. The club wants to do a field trip joined with the Environmental Science class, maybe to the zoo. We plan to do team building exercises or more community service around Baldwin. When I was first in the club it didn’t seem very active, it was more of we did a plant sale and had meeting once a month. I plan to push our club to be more active around the school promote recycling, promote composting or how to compost, what things to recycle, and more. I find it important to have community building and getting together with my peers to show others around or school how we can affect or change the environment around us to help promote atmosphere. I want to leave the impression where people want to join this club for fun and for whatever they need whether it is for volunteer hours or something to do after school, or to help promote recycling. I hope they want to learn about what our club does and what fun things we can do.”
