Humans of BHS: Olivia Stour
“I started showing horses when I was 9 years old. I show mainly at Quarter Horse Shows in Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Minnesota and Ohio. Through horse shows I have made friends who share the same passion that I do, I get to travel around the United States, I am presented with opportunities for the future, and I have learned valuable life lessons. Showing horses is a lot of fun, however there are some cons. When I am at a horse show, there is no sleep. I have to be at the show around 5:30 or 6 in the morning to prepare myself and horse for the day, and usually do not leave until late in the evening. Horse showing also interferes with school, which causes me to have a lot of homework to makeup. Even though I get to spend time with my horses and friends at the horse shows, I miss out on a lot of family functions, such as birthday parties and games. I would not change it for the world though!”

If you only had one week left to live how would you spend it? I would travel to Italy and sit on a beach eating tons of gelato...
