Baldwin has many seniors who are playing sports in college and going to colleges with good education. Seniors such as Talan Torrez, Lilly Brecheiesen, and Fisayo Afonja have scholarships for sports at colleges across the country.
Afonja has plans on going to Brown University.
“I plan on playing volleyball and majoring in economics at Brown University,” Afonja said.
She is going on a scholarship and she had many reasons to pick this college.
“I loved what Brown offered both academically and athletically. The trainers, coaches and players are all amazing and I love the open curriculum at the school,” Afonja said.
She is playing volleyball in college and that is one of the reasons she is going to Brown University. Many are wondering if she will be going to play after college.
“No, I don’t think I will continue volleyball after college,” Afonja said.
Brecheiesen is also going to college while playing sports.
“I’m going to Park University,” Brecheiesen said. “Park offers tons of different and unique classes, and will allow me to accomplish all of my academic goals while also competing in athletics.”
Brecheiesen is doing multiple sports.
“I am currently signed to run cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track at Park,” Brecheiesen said.
She isn’t just doing sports she is also getting her Bachelor’s degree.
“While at park, I plan on obtaining my Bachelor’s degree in Science by studying Biology with a concentration in healthcare and criminal justice,” Brecheiesen said.
