More electives equals more options

Schools offering more electives

Imagine graduating from high school without only a high school diploma but also with post-secondary experience to go and join a workforce.

The bigger the school you go to the more electives but what about all the kids that go to a smaller school and miss out on those experiments. I believe every school should offer a variety of electives and clubs to make sure everyone gets the best experience out of there high school. The average is normally about 20 kids to one teacher. So in order for your smaller schools to offer more electives you need more kids which equals more teachers so then there is more electives.

Most people throughout high school take electives to kind of relate to what they want to do after high school is over. So once they graduate they have a little bit of background knowledge. Well you can’t do that if your school doesn’t offer a wide variety of electives.

As a person who has a passion for agriculture and everything to do with agriculture, I would love it if we had even a few electives related agriculture. I also wish we had an FFA club at our school. I know many people who have got really big scholarships through FFA and all the different categories inside of FFA.

The required number of courses to graduate is 7 hours of electives according to the Minnesota Office Of Higher Education.

So how do the expect you to take about 14 different electives since they are all almost half a year but also know what your what to do after you get out of high school.

So I firmly believe that there needs to be greater ranges in the types of electives in every school.
