Spending too much time on prom
Prom is something students look forward to each year, boys and girls both. It gives them a chance to dress up, go out to eat, and dance with all their friends. This dance is made for Juniors and Seniors only, unless a junior or senior asks an underclassmen.
This dance is very expensive, especially for girls. Almost every girl books appointments to get their hair and makeup done professionally. Most dresses are $80 or more. Plus they have to spend money on the boutonniere They have to make sure there aren’t any last minute problems.
For the boys, prom is a lot less stressful. They have to rent a tux, buy a corsage and get ready for the dance. Boys do have to spend a lot of money. The boys are supposed to buy girls their dinner, they need gas money and they buy the prom tickets.
Most seniors and juniors enjoy prom because it is a time to spend with all their classmates. Underclassmen do not enjoy prom as much. Freshmen and sophomores tend to not enjoy prom because they are surrounded by older students who they don’t often talk to.
Many of the students think eating dinner is the best part of the night, especially the boys. They get to go out to a fancy restaurant with their date and their friends. Everyone gets to try new foods and have a lot of fun and laughs.
On the other hand, some of the students think after prom is the best part. A lot of schools go to relatively close locations for after prom, such as a bowling alley or even a movie theater. Some other schools have their after prom at their school. They have bouncy houses, human hungry hippo, board games, card games, karaoke and much more.
If the school board were to take away Prom, Many people would be very mad about it. We should keep Prom because it is a fun way for the junior and senior classes to have one last dance together before the seniors graduate.
