There are some great clothing items out there but not all of them are suitable for school. Here are some tips to follow to make sure you are looking fashionable and appropriate for school.
No pajama pants or slippers-Everyone wakes up late on occasion. School starts early, we get it, but wearing your pajama pants and/or slippers is putting zero effort into your appearance. If you wake up late or just don’t feel like wearing nice clothes you can throw on a pair of sweats and flip flops, it doesn’t take that long and is just as comfy as pajamas.
Short shorts, skirts, and dresses-This rule applies to boys and girls. If you have great legs that you want to show off go for it, but not at school. If the person behind you when you are going up the stairs can see your butt cheeks hanging out of the bottom of you shorts, skirt or dress they are not long enough.
Properly cover the rest of you-There are some very cute shirts available for girls that are see through. Girls, if you purchase one of these shirts and wear it to school please wear a camisole under it, that is what they are for. Wearing just a bra or ban-do is not enough. This is not the pool or the beach, your stomach should be covered.
Cover your underwear-Some girls pants have a low waistband and sometimes your underwear just rides up, it happens to all of us. If you are wearing pants with a low waistband make sure your top is long enough to cover up the top of your underwear when you sit or bend over. While you may find your underwear cute, no one else wants to see it while they are in school. To the boys who purposely wear their pants lower than their underwear, please don’t. We are in school and no one wants you see you flashing your drawers around.
High heels-If you can walk around school in high heels successfully all day my hat goes off to you. However, I have noticed most girls who wear heels to school either can’t walk in them, or end up taking them off in the morning and carrying them around. If you feel like you are going to tip over while walking around, my guess is you probably look like you are about to. There is nothing wrong with wearing a cute pair of flats, or even a lower heel to prevent looking like you may tip over at any moment. If the heels hurt your feet after 15 minutes of wearing. them they probably are not the best choice of shoe for school. There are two problems with taking your heels off at school and walking around barefoot the rest of the day. First of all, it is disgusting. Over 400 people walk the halls and classrooms in their shoes every 45 minutes. The bottom of shoes is certainly not the cleanest place on earth, therefore making the floor not the cleanest place and you are walking around on it without shoes…gross. Secondly, it just announces to the world that you picked your shoes because you liked the way they looked not because they were a practical choice.
