Block scheduling is when school days get split into 4 class periods that are around two hours long. The 4 class periods would alternate every other day so that students would get more time to ask questions and understand new material. Once surveys were finished the percentages were split just about 50-50.
“Adding a block schedule to Baldwin High would be beneficial.” 52% of freshmen agree with the claim, but only 36% of sophomores agree. 60% of elective teachers agree that adding in a block schedule would be beneficial.
“Getting a block schedule helps academically.” 55% of seniors agree with this statement,but 54% of Juniors think that adding a block schedule to Baldwin High school would not help academically. From another perspective 40% of Core class teachers think adding a block schedule would help academically.
“Would you like having a block schedule?” 66% of Juniors said that they would like having a block schedule, but only 27% of sophomores said that they would like having a block schedule. 60% of Elective teachers said that they would like having a block schedule added.
A modified block schedule is only applying some of a whole block schedule. For example Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday would be a normal 7 class schedule but on Tuesday and Thursday it would be a block schedule.
“A modified block schedule would be more helpful.” 57% of freshmen agree that adding in a modified block schedule would be more helpful for them. And 77% of Juniors also agree.
