Jim Ashcraft is the Tennis and Scholar’s Bowl coach for Baldwin High School. He has been sponsoring the Scholar’s Bowl team for 6 years. This year there are 16 students participating including the 2 captains of the year who are Senior Travis Turner and Junior Ali Cramer. There aren’t many requirements to be on the team, all a student will need is knowledge.

“You do not need to know everything, you only need to know a little bit,” Ashcraft said.

There aren’t many aspects that would be difficult for students to understand but some things can be tough.

“There’s such a wide variety of questions and I think it is difficult to have students who are really good with all the questions,” sponsor Lois Misegadis said.

The Scholar’s Bowl team has around 20 meets in this season and they’ve already participated in around half of their meets. There are a wide variety of students this year and they are all excited for this upcoming year and are hosting the Baldwin meet of Jan. 22. Ashcraft will be taking six of his varsity students to League which Baldwin is hosting on Jan. 29.
