Ely Morrison who is a sophomore at BHS, who tells us about his time doing rodeo. Morrison has been doing rodeos for many years now and has a lot of experience.
Q: How has your experience with rodeo helped you in life to become the person you are today?
“It gave me a good lifestyle. We have a rodeo community church that me and my rodeo friends go to every time we have a rodeo. Rodeo gave me a good lifestyle to go by and to be different then other people.”
Q: How many years have you been doing rodeo?
“I am in my 12th year of rodeo.”
Q: What do you love about rodeo?
“I love getting to meet new people and having fun with my buddy Max Harvey and getting to go out there on that rodeo and have a good time.”
Q: What are some challenges you have to deal with rodeo?
“Some challenges that I have are keeping my head up. I get really down sometimes.”
Q: What is your biggest fear when you go to a rodeo?
“My biggest fear is getting one of my horses hurt or possibly killed.”
Q: What do you like and dislike about rodeo?
“I like getting to meet new people and having fun with friends and family and sometimes making some money, but I don’t like how much you have to pay to get into a rodeo.“
Q: How do you get ready for a rodeo?
“I prepare by hanging out with my friends because it gets my mind off of it, but on the last two days I get the horse ready and practice rodeoing.”
Q: Why do you love rodeo so much?
“I love it because it has been a lifestyle for my family for a long time and my brothers did it and I want to keep the tradition going and make new friends and meet new people everyday.”
