BHS newest club Refuge was founded by junior Caden Hoffman and senior Saylor Currie. Refuge is a faith based club for everybody to join.
Caden Hoffman and Saylor Currie wondered why so many people didn’t come to FCA. They thought people thought that just because they weren’t athletes they couldn’t go. They created Refuge so anyone can join.
“We saw a lot of people not coming to FCA because they weren’t athletes so we created Refuge so anyone can join”. Junior Hoffman said
Refuge has a meeting every Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the culinary room. A normal meeting starts at 7:30 a.m. and they have breakfast and talk about the topic they chose for that meeting.
“we have breakfast and then have a little sermon and have a lot of fun and just spend time with people who believe in the same kind of stuff as you”. Junior Hoffman said
It doesn’t matter a person’s past or what they do now or if they have ever been to church.
“It does not matter if you go to church every Sunday or if you have never been to church. You are always welcome. We want as many people as possible” Junior Hoffman said.
They have a groupme that you can join for all of the information about upcoming events, when the meetings are or what the topic if the meeting is going to be.
