Concerts are a great way to interact with others of equal interests. You can find people with the same music taste and other interests that coincide with yours. Senior Elaina Francis has been to many concerts.
Francis said she loved discovering concerts for the first time.
“Realizing that it was possible honestly.” Francis said.“ I thought they were all hard to go to, but in 2022 I went to my first solo concert ‘and since then, I have seen over 100 artists in the last two years. “
Francis says she loves meeting new people at concerts.
“The people,” Francis said. “Concerts are the ultimate networking space. You can make such deep connections with people within hours. I met 3 girls at a concert, and a year later I have stayed at each of their houses, in Little Rock, Chicago, and Detroit for multiple days. I have gone on 2-week road trips and flown with them to random states, all because we started a conversation at a show. “
Francis says she has been to many concerts but she does have a top 3.
“My top 3 would be seeing 1975 on Halloween in Detroit Michigan,” Francis said.“ Everyone including the audience, staff, and band was in costume, it was just super fun. I saw Hozier in Red Rocks, colorado, fourth row, and that was so insane for me. I saw Stevie Nicks at Red Rocks and that was also, pretty insane. “
Francis says people should widen their horizons when attending concerts big or small.
“Widen your horizons,” Francis said.“ People have a misconception that concerts are always extremely expensive unattainable events. That’s true if you only want to see the massive artists who do stadium tours, but local venues have such great artists that are affordable. Seeing smaller artists for cheap also gives you bragging rights if they become popular. People freak out when I say I saw Phoebe Bridgers for 15 dollars or Suki Waterhouse for 20.“
