Sophomore Kieran Sandstrom is a student at Baldwin High School who takes online classes. He moved from Lawrence and just started going to Baldwin High School.
Sandstrom made his way from a private school to a public school where he says there is better education.
“The teachers would give us work and videos and hardly actually taught me,” Sandstrom said.
Sandstrom chooses to attend 2 classes at Baldwin High School even though he could stay fully online.
“My sister who is also online chooses to attend a couple classes in person so I might as well stay until she leaves,” Sandstrom said.
Everyone thinks online classes are super easy and can be done quickly.
“Math takes me over an hour and is not as easy as everyone thinks it would be,” Sandstrom said.
“I am able to make more time for other activities and I can also work in my bed,” Sandstrom said.
Everyone has a different way of learning, some students may choose online over in person because of the way they learn. Others choose in person over online because they may have more questions or just need to hear it from a teacher.
