“This year we had baskets set up specifically for two families in our community that are battling cancer,” senior Fisayo Afonja said.
In our community there are two families who have children who are battling cancer. The Kellerman and Smith family. This year to help raise money each seminar had different themes and had to make a basket to raise money for McCain and Lila. Together they raised more than $300
“This year we are donating to Children’s Mercy Center instead of the Susan G. Komen charity,” Afonja said.
The annual Pink Out Night raised a total of 3,900. They gave the money to Children’s Mercy Center. I think it is important to give to other charities because it is good to give out to the community and other places.
