Baldwin City, Kansas, is home to many festive events. This year the Bratfest went all out bringing some special guests to Baldwin City.
“Two KC Chiefs cheerleaders were in attendance for autographs and photo ops,” BEF director and event organizer Rick Weaver said.
The Bratfest included free entertainment and face painting.
The Bratfest was from 11 a.m to 2 p.m and had plenty of games for everyone to enjoy.
“There was no charge for the Bratfest and anyone was welcome,” Weaver said.
The Bratfest and Silent Auction is a fundraiser for the Baldwin Education Foundation. This year marks the third year of the Bratfest and Silent Auction.
“BEF raises money to support teachers, students, and staff,” Weaver said.
The Bratfest brought out the Baldwin High School band and choir to perform at Sullivan Square.
“This is one of our main fundraisers for teachers and the education foundation,” Weaver said.
Games and contests are provided for all ages and sidewalk art is available as well. During the Bratfest, raffles and many other surprises will occur.
“The most memorable Bratfest was a dance off between the Baldwin Dancing Dog and El Gigante, a pseudo Latin American Dancing Champion during the First Bratfest ever,” Weaver said.
Student Carson Shannon is a loyal fan of the Bratfest.“There’s a lot of people, games, food, and a good place to hangout with your friends,” Shannon said.
The Bratfest was located at Sullivan Square in Baldwin City.
