For many years the middle of the school was used for bulky lockers that were used by little to none, until just recently the school staff had decided it was time for a change.
With this new area, the school unlocks a new potential use for teachers to use for their classes such as Social Studies teacher Donnie Blanchat.
“I think showing up to the school year with new improvements in this new space gives students a positive outlook,” Blanchat said. “As well as teachers who utilize this space and work in a new setting”.
The lockers have been around for just about 30 years and this new change symbolizes growth and improvement in Baldwin High School.
Journalism teacher Kit Harris also saw value in this new improvement to Baldwin High School.
“The area has been a huge new addition to our school, mostly for the lower hall classes like mine.” Harris said.
Along with this new open space, came new furniture, such as a few couches, small tables, and a family style dining room table at the far end where students can sit and work on group projects together.
“My personal favorite piece of furniture is the family style table and chairs, because it really makes whoever is sitting there feel comfortable and at home,” Blanchat said.
The new bay area is one of many new improvements this school is soon to make, as students and teachers continue to strive to grow and make our community and schools better as a whole.
