Cinderella to sweep the stage
Baldwin High School is hitting the stage again with Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Viewers can see our students at 7pm on Nov. 11 to Nov. 13. Tickets will be $5 for students and $7 for adults.
“It’s going to be an amazing show and I hope many Baldwin students and staff can attend,” director Katie Jacobsen said.
Some title roles are Cinderella played by Riley Smith, Christopher played by Zach Goodwin, the Stepfamily played by Olivia Todd, Elee Pittman, and Bailey Smith, and the King and Queen played by Micah-Ray Reynolds and Abby Patterson.
“We believe that all roles, even the ensemble roles, are equally important and always try to make the show about the entire cast, not just those with solos and lines,” Jacobsen said.
Auditions were Aug. 30 and 31, and they’ve been practicing since.
“The musical has been great,” cast member Ainsley Weiss said. “Everyone has been getting along well, and practices have been very fun and productive.”
This year is the 10-year anniversary of the Performing Arts Center opening. Cinderella was the first show ever performed in the area.
“It’s also fun because some of our named roles this year played mice and birds in the original productions. We are doing this show to celebrate that history and tradition of excellence that started 10 years ago,” Jacobsen said.
