Maple Leaf tradition continues
The Maple Leaf Festival is a tradition in Baldwin City, Kansas, that has been going on for a long time.
“It it is the best part of Fall,” BHS freshman Jack Baron said. “The parade is my favorite part, but I don’t really ever do anything after.”
“I play a drum in the parade and I try to do as well as I can without mistakes,” Baron said. “I play with the band because it is a fun activity to do during fall.”
Many students enjoy the festival and just watching the parade.
“I like going to the parade and hanging out with friends after,” sophomore Riley Smith said. “I usually like the food and the enviornment is just really friendly.”
The Maple Leaf Festival runs from Oct. 18-20.
“My favorite part of Maple Leaf is the food, There is a wide variety so I don’t really have a specific favorite,” sophomore Zayne Nowak said.
The festival starts with the parade, and then transitions into many activities for people to do around Baldwin City.
