There’s no time like Homecoming week
Homecoming week was full of jorts, seeing double, and more! At Baldwin High School the students were getting prepared and excited for their homecoming game two Fridays ago. Throughout the week, the school was participating in a fun spirit week.
“Student Council has been planning homecoming week ever since we got done with Freshman first day,” sponsor Danielle Balsman said.
With planning for so long, Student Council came up with many main themes before deciding on the final one. The same situation with the daily dress up themes.
“Wizard of Oz was the week’s theme,” Balsman said. “The daily themes were Twister Tuesday, Which Witch is Which, There’s No Place Like Home, and There’s a Storm Brewing.”
Each of those days students were able to dress up according to the theme and win prizes if their outfit was one of the best. Homecoming week isn’t just fun but it also comes with benefits.
“I think it is good to have traditions and times to make memories outside your normal everyday life,” Balsman said.
“It makes the school a more fun place to be. It livens up the hallways and brightens my face to see everyone participate in school activities,” senior class president Kayla Kurtz said.
Some students do sports or clubs to get involved. For the students that don’t, homecoming week is an easy time to do so. Everyone can be involved in dressing up and having fun.
“Homecoming is a good time to celebrate our togetherness and our spirit,” Balsman said. “It gives all students to participate in something and get involved.”
