Art Club has been attending the annual Renaissance Festival for 7 years. This year’s is on Oct. 5 for the club members.

Sponsor Christy Carlisle has planned the trip every year because the students enjoy it.

“The numbers grow every year, and we always have some kids dressing up. It gives the theater kids a chance to do their thing. It’s a great experience,” she said. “They have a different theme each weekend, and our’s is ‘Wonders of the World’.”

Sophomore Hannah Parks has some insight in last year’s trip.

“I like the staff and how they interacted with the people that came. Our group was really neat, and everyone was nice,” Parks said. “My favorite thing was the chicken sausage. I would definitely recommend going, I met one of my best friends on that trip. It’s one of my fondest memories of last year.”

The trip bonds new and old members of Art Club and immerses them into a new culture. The Renaissance Festival is in Bonner Springs and was started in 1977. The tickets are $17.50 from Mrs. Carlisle, but only Art Club members attend the field trip.
