The holiday season has begun with festive music, twinkling lights and seasonal shopping. The countdown to winter break has begun, but so has the countdown to finals. Before students are allowed to depart for break, cumulative finals must be completed in each class. There is roughly two full weeks left until the tests will be administered, so make sure to plan accordingly.
Most cumaltive finals administered account for approximately 10% of overall grades per semester. Though some have been known to scoff off the exams, finals are not a matter to be taken lightly. For some students, the cumulative final can make a difference in their final grade and can easily change an overall letter grade for the semester.
In the school-wide plan for finals this year, classes are scheduled in blocks. As opposed to the typical 48-minute class periods, classes will be in session for 100 minute blocks. This alternative scheduling allows students more time to focus and thoroughly complete exams. Finals will be administered on Dec. 19-20 and schedule for both days can be found below.
