Concert choir creating colorful sounds
Go to room 119 during seventh hour and the sound of carefully crafted chords and melodies fill the air. Baldwin High School’s concert choir is hard at work preparing for its next performance this Friday at the homecoming game against DeSoto.
Concert Choir has already performed once this year at the T-Bones game singing the national anthem. Concert choir is currently working on five songs: two examples are “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Freddie Mercury and “Sure on this Shining Night” by Morten Lauridsen.
There are five officer positions, president is senior Cassidy Markley, Vice President is senior Raenna Duncan, Secretary is senior Mara Waltz, and Treasurer is senior Madeline Miley. The two publicists are senior Adam Withers and junior Kassadie Burton.
“I joined concert choir to have more performing opportunities like singing at Crown center,” junior Michaela Todd said.
Concert choir has many performances throughout the year. They travel to Crown Center in December, a vocal concert in March, state large group festival in April, and Start Struck in May and much more.
“I joined concert choir for more singing opportunities,” junior Aislyn Meyer said.
