The BHS journalism staff competed in the State KSPA competition this weekend, ending with a high overall finish and many individual honors, as well.
Baldwin finished seventh overall in points at the competition, including five placings.

The top ten schools who had the most points in 4A were:
- 1st – Bonner Springs 34
- 2nd – Pittsburg 30
- 3rd – Piper 16
- 4th – Pratt 14
- 5th – DeSoto 13
- 6th – Augusta 13
- 7th – Baldwin 12
- 8th – Girard 11
- 9th – Rose Hill 11
- 10th – Chanute 10
Other students who competed were Natalie Schultz, Katie Langrehr, Kate Daffern, Kelsie Champagne, Morgan Smith and Marlena Arjo.
“Our students did a great job. Many worked very hard on their entries and tried to learn a lot from their Regional critiques,” adviser Kit Harris said. “To have our staff finish seventh and a first and a second place award from Nick is wonderful. All of our students represented Baldwin High School very well.”
