The Patriots Club had an educational trip to the Brown vs. Board of Education museum in Topeka. They left at Monday morning April 1st at 8:30 and and stayed there until 12:30 pm. This is the location of the school that Brown wanted to attend. They had a presentation on civil rights that they did at the museum.
“I was pretty excited about the trip when I first went there,” sophomore Joel Halford said. “I feel like it was done pretty well and the presentations were all good.”
The Patriots Club members went through the museum and observed the Civil Rights history and found very interactive display. They had a video and audio that students could watch from.
“The interactive display really pulled the whole group in and helped us further our understanding of the time era and events,” senior Colton Horne said. “I enjoyed myself because I know what it was like in the past and I can say that it is much different today. I would encourage everyone to go for the interactive educational experience.”
Patriots Club went for this trip because they are fucused on their constitutional rights and our liberties and they wanted to do something fun.
“It was a good experience and we all learned a lot.” Sophomore Broke Hoobler said.” It was interesting to recreate their experience”
