Four anonymous Twitter accounts that had been made by BHS students were all students could talk about last week.
The first two accounts that caught students’ attention were calling out students in a negative way. When the user started pointing out negative aspects of some students other students on Twitter jumped in and stood up for their schoolmates.
“I don’t understand why they were created,” senior Chessica Evans said. “They are stupid and pointless, it was great to see students standing up for each other instead of just watching it happen.”
A student brought the accounts to the administration’s attention and the accounts were shut down the next morning.
In response to the negative Twitter accounts some BHS students started Twitter accounts to give BHS students positive “shout-out’s”. These Twitter accounts have been widely accepted at BHS and many of the students appreciated them after the negative ones.
“I think they (the positive Twitter accounts) are encouraging and I think it’s a good way to counteract the ones that were bullying people,” senior Regan LaTessa said.
