BHS Concert Choir sings National Anthem at T-Bones game
The BHS Concert Choir had the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Kansas City T-Bones game for the third year in a row on Aug. 24.
The kids enjoy the opportunity of singing at the game.
“It makes me feel really patriotic,” Concert Choir co-president Trent Russell said.
BHS choir teacher has several favorite aspects of the evening with her students.
“The professional way they carry themselves and perform in such an honorable way (is great),” Nelson said. “Also, hanging out at the Legends is fun and watching the game after they sing.”
Nelson has some great experience with some of the students in Concert Choir and enjoys working with them.
“We’ve really just got a great group of kids,” Nelson said. “Lots of positive attitudes and good work ethic. We have a nice balanced sound between the men’s and women’s parts. I’ve worked with some of the seniors since they were freshman at BHS and it is so fun to see what great singers and people they’ve become in four years. I was incredibly impressed with what this group could do with only a week to prepare for the TBones game that I can’t wait to see what they’ll do with months to prepare.”
The students in the choir are looking to have a great year.
“I hope to get a one rating at state again and blend really well and have a good balance,” Concert Choir co-president Regan LaTessa said.
