The annual night of FCA Dodgeball proved to be successful. The event was held in the Baldwin High School Gym on Nov. 9.
“The game was a lot of fun. It was good to see people who weren’t in FCA there,” junior FCA officer Trent Russell said. “Even though my team lost, I really enjoyed it because it’s not about winning or losing, it’s about setting a good example to people.”
In past years, the numbers of those that participated in the tournament were much smaller than this year’s numbers.
“We had a great turnout. It was different this year because it was better organized and we offered prizes and snacks,” FCA sponsor Jason Crowder said.
FUMC youth group leader Eva Durand came to speak after the tournament.
“I thought Eva’s message was very powerful and also humorous. Each one of us related to it in a different way,” Russell said.
A lot of work was put behind the event.
“We had a bunch of officers come in before and help set up. People donated food and drinks. Because of the hard work, it turned out very successful,” senior FCA officer Cory Stephens said.
The FCA group (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) meets in Crowder’s classroom every Friday morning before school.
