“Winter workshop” is an event for students at the primary center. This event involves “shopping” for Christmas gifts for their family and friends. Parents can send the students to school with cash, which the students use to buy gifts in the gym. High school students will mainly focus on wrapping gifts that the primary school students have purchased.
High school students can help with this program. If the student’s grade in every class is above 70% and they have no unexcused absences, they are eligible to volunteer at Winter Workshop. Winter Workshop takes place in the gym at the primary center on December 9. This will help students get community service hours.
Volunteering at Winter Workshop includes wrapping and bagging gifts for the young students who are “shopping”. Students should volunteer to work at this event because it may foster helpful skills for their future, including staying on task and working hard. Students who take interest in working at or owning a business in their future should sign up to work at this event.
Students who volunteer to help at Winter Workshop are guaranteed to have a good time. Students are able to pick the hours that they volunteer at Winter Workshop. For more information, an email from our vice principal, Kelli Haeffner, was sent to all high school students on November 19.
