Everybody has an interesting hobby. When they come home from school, work, or just have some time on their hands. There’s a hobby they may participate in. That includes everybody at BHS.
“I really like to do ceramics,” junior Audrey Williams said. “But I also like watching a lot of different movies.”
The most common hobbies BHS students may have consist of reading, playing video games, going to clubs, going to the gym, painting, listening to music, watching movies, studying, or maybe just practicing on a skill they may have.
Teachers, like math teacher Danielle Balsman, also come home and have an interesting hobby they like to do in their free time from work.
“I love going to the movies,” Balsman said. “While I have an appreciation for most genres of movies, I really get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and all things Disney.”
People’s hobbies sometimes are just being around the people they love. That could be family, friends, or pets.
“I really like to spend the rest of my free time enjoying some time with my daughter,” Balsman said.
At other times, people love to just relax in their free time and read their favorite books or play their favorite sport from time to time.
“I love to read and I enjoy playing tennis. But really, most of the time I’m just reading books,” senior Maggie Todd said.
My most interesting hobby that I partake in has to be ceramics. It started when I was maybe 12 years old. I wanted to make new jewelry trays, and I was tired of my incense ash spilling everywhere,” senior Allie Williams said. “We started with air dry clay, but eventually got to real, kiln-firing clay. I took a ceramics class with Ms. Weaver last year, and I loved it.”
