“I am a cheer captain at BHS and I was the only senior on the team this season. Being the only senior on the cheer team was definitely something different. There were some good and bad things that came with being the only senior. My favorite part about being a cheerleader is being able to boost the crowds energy at games and showing off our skills. It is fun to be a cheer captain because we get to decide what uniforms we wear to different events. I also liked being a captain because I could help guide the newer cheerleaders and help them excede. Cheer captains are chosen by the team. The girls who qualified to be captains had their names written down on a piece of paper and the rest of the teammates voted on who would fit the role the best. I have been a cheerleader since 7th grade so after this season I have cheered for six years.  My favorite memory from being a BHS cheerleader would have to be whenever we go to state. The rush of adrenaline that occurs when we walk out onto the mats is something untrue. As a cheerleader we worked on the routine months before. So, to finally show off our skills is the best feeling to know that our hard work was shown.”
