Shop Teacher Thomas Harman has been teaching at Baldwin High School for 24 years. He teaches industrial tech or as some know it, shop class. Harman took many shop classes in high school.
“I have been at Baldwin for 24 years,” Harman said. “I teach all the Industrial Tech.I became interested in teaching shops after taking a lot of shop classes in high school.”
Harman likes to farm outside of school.
“I plan to work on my farm when I retire,” Harman said.
Harman had a good time teaching at Baldwin.
“I’ve always had a good time teaching at Baldwin, the students, faculty, and administration have always been good to me,” Harman said.
Junior Drew Flick shared his thoughts about Harman and what he had learned from him.
“I have learned a lot of things from Mr Harman, but most importantly he has taught me to be a well-rounded man,” Flick said. “He has also taught a lot of knowledge in industrial arts such as welding and woodworking.”
Journalism teacher Kit Harris has known Harman for 20 years and has learned much from him.
“I have known Mr. Harman for a long time and have seen him devote many years of dedication and service to educating our students at Baldwin High School,” Harris said. “He is one of the best I have ever seen at BHS and we are going to miss him greatly.
Harris said Harman has a very strong work ethic and holds very high standards.
“He has always been very respected for how he goes about his profession,” Harris said. “He plays a significant role in our building with the area he teaches. He holds his students to a very high standard.”
Junior Blake Hanna Has had many classes with Harman.
“Harman has been a very impactful teacher during my high school career and we all hate to see him go,” Hanna said.
