While balancing being a student and 3 sports, Jamie Bohan, a senior at Baker University, is now Donnie Blanchat’s student teacher at Baldwin High School.
“I chose teaching because I think you guys have great potential and I want to help you see that,” Bohan said.
Bohan participates in cross country, soccer and track at Baker University.
“It is very tricky to balance all that I do,” Bohan said.
Bohan earned scholarship money for all of the sports she does.
“I kind of just ended up at Baker because I wanted to live close to home since I was getting married,” Bohan said.
Even with all that Bohan does, she still keeps a calm state of mind.
“Yeah it’s pretty stressful at times but you guys make it better.” Bohan said, “I just try not to procrastinate and get things done ahead of time, but running also helps.”
Bohan believes that studying history teaches us how to be good people, and that is one of the main reasons why she chose to pursue a career in history. When she graduates she hopes to become a high school history teacher.
“She is a great student teacher because she really helps us learn,” BHS freshman Sam Taylor said.
“I think it is a great experience for her and us students because you can really face what it is like to be a teacher and she can understand you as she was only in high school a few years ago. She is very nice as well,” junior exchange student Giorgia Dangelo said.
