Humans of BHS: Cheyenne Brunker
“I have been showing cattle for as long as I can remember. Right when I was out of the hospital I was accompanying my aunt in the show ring. My mother, my uncle, and AJ Rodgers have influenced my showing career the most. My mom was the first person that started showing in our family, so I wanted to follow after her. I have shown in Kansas City, Nebraska a few times, Oklahoma a few times, and Kentucky. We go to Hutchinson a lot, since every year that’s where the state fair is held. In two years I plan to go to Wisconsin for Junior Nationals. I plan to keep competing until I’m 21, which is the end date for juniors. I have won the American Royal junior breeding heifer, Grand Champion Junior Heifer at the state fair, the Champion Bred and Own Angus at the state fair, Angus Reserve Champion, and the Champion Bred and Own Angus at the state fair. My favorite heifers have to be Betty, Dorthy, and Minnie. Showing heifers is a lot of work, but if I didn’t love it, I wouldn’t be doing it.”
