Volleyball takes BHS senior to the next level
BHS senior Sophie Baker has played volleyball since fourth grade, she quickly fell in love with the sport and excelled from there. She was a standout on the court for the Bulldog volleyball team, helping them place in the top four of the 4A State tournament this season.
Baker’s parents got her involved in volleyball when she was very young and she appreciates the support.
“My parents have always supported me in everything I have done and helped me become the player I am now,” Baker said.
She has mostly appreciated the connections she has made with her peers and coaches.
“It’s my favorite sport to play, the friendships and coaches I have met,” Baker said. “I made long lasting relationships with athletes and coaches.”
Baker’s favorite moment playing for the Baldwin Bulldogs was when the Bulldogs won their Sub-State bracket to go to state for the first time in four years.
“My goals are to just enjoy the next four years and try to make more friendships and memories along the way,” Baker said.
Baker plans to attend Avila University to play volleyball and major in Psychology and become a therapist in her future.
